I have a fine arts background and always knew I wanted to attend art school. I had a passion for many mediums from drawing and painting to architecture and photography. However, I discovered fashion design to be this perfect medium that combined my visual passion for 2D illustration and 3D architectural construction with my love for interesting textiles and color. I have always been very in touch with my emotions but FIT has been the place for me to ground all of those emotions and express them in a unique way through design. I believe we are stewards of the earth and should enjoy and experience creation but also treat it was care and responsibility. As a designer I love to design using recycled fabrics and textiles that tell a story and have a history. I am a hard-working designer and a smart-working designer. For who am I if I do not take care of what I am given?

"Be a Neighbor" by AIRBNB

Urban neighborhoods are increasingly experiencing gentrification, which causes families to be displaced, businesses to go under, and a community's identity to be completely lost. So how can people who visit these neighborhoods enrich their culture and help to protect it? Introducing "Be a Neighbor" by Airbnb. We asked hosts to recommend their favorite local restaurants and shops so that visitors can appreciate and support the area. Visitors can check-in to "neighbor recommended" spots during their stay, add digital stamps to their passport, and bookmark their trip. With every stamp you collect, your host is gifted a credit to their favorite local spot as a thank you! Everyone can be a part of the solution by experiencing how amazing it is to be a neighbor. Campaign Goal: Convince travelers to appreciate the communities they visit by telling them to be a neighbor.

"Careing for Caregivers" Project

For my thesis project, "Caring for Caregivers," I designed a 14-story retreat center for medical caregivers of terminally ill patients. The goal of this center is to focus on these caregivers' self-care and their own mental, emotional, and physical health. To design this center, I built a model in SketchUp which was then rendered in Enscape, with finishing touches being added in Photoshop. The center was designed to help the caregivers relax and take time for themselves. Two areas that do just that are the pool, which is located on the basement level, and the meditation center, which is found on the 14th floor. The pool is meant to be a cool, refreshing area for guests to relax. The meditation center is to be used for guests' self-exploration and to stimulate their mind, body, and soul.

I am a lifelong tinkerer and creative with an insatiable desire to understand how things work. Over the years, I've indulged in too many hobbies to mention and explored various creative fields in my quest for knowledge. My capstone project aims to share the joy and satisfaction experienced from learning, tinkering, making, creating, problem-solving, and, ultimately, understanding. Specifically, this project is a proposal for a maker space that focuses on creative technology. The space is titled "Flux," referencing both the concept of continuous flow and the essential material utilized for soldering electronic components. Aesthetically, the space will capture the "hidden magic" of creative technology, using projection mapping and programmable lighting. Physically, the space consists of a communal workspace, a modular event space, and a retail space, all contributing to the end goal of gaining knowledge while simultaneously serving as a creative outlet.
