- In a chaotic, fast paced world, we often lose touch with the past and the foundations that shape who we are. Rooted Stillness is a self portrait that illustrates a moment of pause and reflection, connecting me to my identity. Over the past four years, my work has evolved from a focus on technique to a more intentional exploration of storytelling and self representation. Showcasing a deeper understanding of my artistic voice.
- Artist Statement:
- As I grow older, the fantasies I once imagined as a child begin to fade as I take on the realities of adulthood. My art aims to tap into and express the playful, fantasy world that exists in my mind. These dreamlike narratives and surreal landscapes are made through a carefully considered, hand made, editing process. Making my work is an intentional practice that allows me to slowly express the complexities of my inner world. In a time when generative AI is becoming increasingly prevalent, I find it important to create my artwork with my own hands and by my own merit. Valuing natural intelligence and human creativity is important to me in the production of my work.
