- Summary/Artist Statement
- Superposiciones reflects on Mexican-American identity shaped by diaspora and the experience of growing up as a first-generation individual. Through collage, the work explores cultural memory, language, traditions, and community at risk of being lost. It traces the evolving formation of identity and the negotiation of belonging between two worlds. These experiences are woven together through stages of innocence, denial, disruption, grief, acceptance, integration, and continuation, revealing a complex and ongoing process.
