- Consider Colour features a variety of artists and creators who utilize color to examine its social, psychological and emotional impact. The work includes the saturated and desaturated, the raw and refined, the monochrome and color vomit. Each exhibiting artist employs a broad spectrum of approaches to color theory and includes color as a prominent and essential part of their artistic process. The connection between art and psychology bonds certain colors together evoking emotion and meaning.
- While experiencing the exhibit, consider your personal relationship with color, its effect on your psyche and how you can apply color to your life. Consider how the colors function throughout the diverse and unconventional approach to traditional art making in an institutional setting. We are constantly observing and taking in the influence of color without realizing it, and Consider Colour brings that idea to the forefront of our awareness and consciousness.
