Summary/Artist's Statement
Daydreamer, Believer, Creator. These are the words that I embody. Designing for me is a cathartic experience, designing is healing, designing is powerful. In my mind, I am able to fantasize infinite possibilities. Possibilities that may even change the world of fashion, save the planet, or even make a difference in someone else's life. I believe in my ideals and I believe I can do it. My design aesthetic is dressy sportswear to special occasion. What is unique to me as a person and a designer, is my ability to bond with my concepts and garments. My creations are an extension of me. I create art.
Image 1: Front view of complete look, consisting of a bishop sleeve wool sweater, rib knit vest, and stretch-knit pants. The three pieces total 3,740 beads and 1,105 bobby/roller pins. The bucket bag is embellished with 70 silver studs.
Image 2: A mix of semi-precious, bugle, and seed beads. Roller pins dangle from the beaded loops. Bobby pins line the collar while the rollers line the hem/cuff.
Image 3: Back close-up view of the sweater and vest. A mix of bobby and roller pins surround the circle cut out. Double beaded loop dangles from the shoulders.
Image 4: This image highlights the semi-precious beads sewn alongside the pants. I also made the pump heel prototype. The circle motif fabrication on the heel matches the bucket bag.
Image 5: Back View
Video: This clip captures the sweater and vest while illuminated. Ultimately, the whole look took approximately 60 hours to complete and I loved every second of it.
