This work is a multilayered reduction print of a mushroom with leaves. With multiple layers The work creates dimension, while illustrating a psychedelic space. The major interest of the work is to explore the limits of color in a reduction print. Secondarily, the work explores the psychological and iconographic associations with mushrooms.

That day in class we were doing value studies and I was excited because we had my favorite model. I think the context in which someone works greatly affects their effort and therefore turnout because I remember trying especially hard on this piece. I’ve never gotten to draw him before and drawing is my favorite technique and he is my favorite model so it was overall a really wonderful and exciting opportunity.

This painting explores the idea of home through two versions of myself: a younger, monochrome me and who I am today. Seen through a fisheye lens, the house curves and bends around us, as though memory itself is shaping the space. It slips into surrealism as dense green foliage overtakes the frame, interrupted only by a lone magnolia flower. Together, these elements evoke the layered, sometimes dreamlike nature of memory, identity, and belonging.

These are 16 12x12 paintings done for our Unit 2 project in which we had the freedom to explore any subject of our choice. I chose to research the underground gambling scene in Korea. Gambling is illegal there, but there are a lot of schemes for getting rich quick that targets a lot of under qualified people. These include stock trading and apartment flipping, which are perfectly normal and legal if done by educated professionals.

This was a painting made based on an obituary given by my professor. I decided to use my grandmother as a model and focus on the life of a grandmother who loved nothing more than taking care of her grandchildren.

This work was made during Visualization of the Human Figure I as a figure study. It is made using graphite on 4 pieces of 18”x 24” paper that have been taped together to create a 48” x 36” surface. The piece centers around two figures sitting on a model stand with students drawing all around them. My goal was to study the interactions between the figures and the space around them and eliminate the idea of negative and positive space.
