Millinery at FIT celebrates the art of hat-making. Since 1944, FIT has nurtured a passion for hats, with students mastering various styles, from fashionable felt hats to exquisite fur pieces. The program includes men’s hats, bridal headpieces, and weather-appropriate headwear. In the late 1970s, millinery became a part of FIT’s curriculum, led by renowned milliners. This program has boosted the hat-making industry in New York City and nationwide.

Lust is a dazzling party wear collection with high shine finishes and galactic silver tones.
Lust depicts the intense desire to be seen in a world of unrest. To be perceived in a place where we are expected to shrink ourselves- to constrict ourselves until we are no longer present.
It exceeds the pursuit of pleasure. Lust is a collection for the people that demand to be seen.

Retaliation is the designer’s response to the traditional interpretation of a woman’s identity in multicultural societies. Being personally subjected to societal standards, the designer explored the different phases of her unrest and its call for action over the course of time. Inspired by this personal reflection, this collection is nothing but strong and bold. It challenges symmetry, traditional forms, and construction by using organic and intentional contours; 3D manipulations and structured drapes are exhibited.

I constructed a pair of mulberry red calfskin calf size boots with exaggerated soles that protrude out making it look sharp from above and below. It has loops on the sole so you can lace it up to the vamp point, and you tie it in the back. Forest green lambskin lining.

Not unlike the feeling of going to bed in a fancy hotel, finding that the bedsheets have already been turned down for you, and a chocolate has been placed on your pillow, Sleep Deprivation is a capsule collection that captures the feeling of a rich chocolate sleep. Made for the sleep-deprived, commuting New Yorker, yet inspired by the sleep-obsessed college student, the collection focuses on luxury pieces that allow you to sleep anywhere, anytime.

Sicanje:
Tattoos are a representation of identity living on one’s flesh forever. For Catholic women and children in Croatia during the 20th century, tattoos meant protection from physical abuse and evil. The most visible parts of the body are adorned with sicanje exhibiting age, mistreatment, and neglect. Although tattoos are a form of expression, sicanje was a form of protection.

In Flight

My collection, In Flight, is about trying to find balance between wanting to hold onto childhood silliness and needing to embrace adulthood. Everyday I find myself wanting to be professional and sophisticated but instead joke and play around. After observing fancy pigeons and whooping cranes I found they had qualities much like how I feel inside. Each is a mix of awkward and beautiful, their elegant lines and graceful bodies contrasted with their awkward legs and mannerisms. I wanted to emulate the silly contradiction in these birds and designed my pieces as a gradual flow from humorous to subtle and sophisticated. The pieces range from bags that are fully bird, transitioning out away from the birds, and finally shoes that just capture the essence of a bird's foot. This progression to being subtle but still a bit funny is what I hope to find in my future adult life.

Artist Statement: At its core, Elemental reflects my spirituality with wear-able clothing and accessories that incorporate leather tooling. It’s a unique way of expressing my beliefs through my art and sharing it with others. The beauty of Elemental lies in its ability to connect with people on a deeper level. Those who resonate with the symbols and messages in my designs can find a sense of comfort and meaning in wearing my creations. I see it as a way of sharing my own personal journey with others and helping them to connect with their own spirituality. It’s about creating something that not only looks beautiful but feels meaningful.
