Open up your ultra-femininity with a collection emphasizing the sweet aroma that transpires from the most beloved flower, a rose. Scented makeup has been around dating as far back as the 1930s, but how often do we see a compelling makeup product that has three-dimensional packaging to replicate the delightful scent that is highlighted inside the product itself? I was inspired to bring the sweet aroma alive from within, creating a collection consisting of eyeshadow palettes, rose hip oils, and rose lip glosses. Using digital mediums such as Photoshop, I was able to curate a collection where each component will be a reminder of the robust fragrance that has been fused into its formula. I brought my vision to life by photographically styling a prototype of my artistry to fully emphasize to the beholder the exact rich-sweet scent that will linger on them all day long!

A digital native who got my start nearly ten years ago making fan edits for my tumblr, I strive to design pieces that translate to the screen. "Angels Welcome" is an homage to my tumblr days and internet culture, transporting you to a cyber oasis. I drew inspiration from neon lights and vaporwave aesthetics, hallmarks of the tumblr style that initially piqued my interest many years ago. Beginning with a sketch on paper, I translated the wallpaper design digitally to give it a slick, graphic feel. I then manipulated the photo of the lounge to reflect my vision. The result is a lounge concept that merges URL with IRL.

"Elevated Sportswear Revamped" is inspired by the rural and architectural aspects of NYC. Raised as a Brooklynite myself, I take lots of inspiration from the different communities around me. This collection has an emphasis on silhouette, color, cut, and style. Streetwear is heavily influenced here on NYC streets. This is how I've come up with the colors and designs. It's very practical for a woman to wear sneakers, not just during the day but in their nightlife as well. Adding a touch of femininity to them makes it more glamorous. I'm that girl who loves practicality while still looking my best. I enjoy watching the way people dress on the streets. It's quite a hobby of mine and how I get inspired as a visual designer. Honing in on one's upbringing is important to me and how I represent myself as a person.

As the pandemic hit, I was inspired by the idea of how many of us have had an increasing desire to return to the nostalgic comfort and safety of childhood memories when we think of home and interior décor. The DIY movement and the renewed value of homemade goods, crafting, baking, and decorating, have taken on a noticeable youthful feel, and became an upcoming trend of the year. I came up with a concept of childlike expressionism, creating a collection of knit prints and patterns for kids' wear, that have the aesthetic of a playful and flirtatious theme using Kaledo and Photoshop. As a creative designer and artist, I take inspiration from the current trends and my surroundings.

I have always had an attachment to "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll. The idea of a girl exploring ways with intuition, and bringing out her true personality through an adventure, best describes the person I am. My work reflects a side of me that loves a pure form of identity, bringing out my inner belief, which is sometimes suppressed by limits. Power to all the women who believed in Wonderland. Through my work, I will go on an adventure filled with curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Creativity is that part of life where we can escape restricted conclusions into expressing undefined results. I will play with the flaws and explore the limitless ideas of visuals. A form of art can shape an individual's uniqueness into an inspiration. Bringing optimism and fulfillment to one's emotions through my artwork is my goal.

Inspiration is everywhere, from subway cars to cereal boxes. Creativity sparks in places you would not even imagine. But that is just the spark. Starting the fire is your responsibility. Since I was a young child, I have always been a daydreamer. While math equations were being drawn out on a whiteboard, I would imagine a lion walking into the classroom and how I would save my teachers and classmates. Getting lost in my brain, imagining stories, situations, and ultimately art, is a secret weapon I once feared, but now plan on sharing with the world to its greatest potential. These few works of mine, leading with a self-portrait edited to have multiple eyes, represent my creative process, sporadic and seemingly unrelated. My eye is drawn to all different sectors of design. Their relation is threaded in the process it took to complete them.

"Ikahnic Magazine" is a short publication I made at the beginning of quarantine in 2020 to show how I was staying inspired and motivated during such a transformative time. I was inspired by the pillow dress trend that was started on Instagram by @myforteisfashion and @stylebynelli. I wanted to try to do a photo shoot with my take on the trend while also using other items around my house, like curtains and blankets, to create different looks. I joined Fabric Styling because of my love of layout design, fashion, and fine arts, and wanted a way to combine my interests. "Ikahnic Magazine" allowed me to use my skills learned at FIT, such as photography, styling, and graphic design, to create a cohesive publication. As an artist and designer, romanticism, beauty, and nature are all things that inspire my body of work, which includes textiles, fine art, and graphic design.

To me, fashion is an art form that allows me to express myself in ways that words can't. I love experimenting and creating innovative looks that are playful, vibrant, and bold. "Frida Kahlo meets George Condo and Frank Stella" is a fusion of Condo and Stella's artwork, with Frida as my inspiration. Condo's artwork consists of various characters that have a whimsical approach to them. Combine that with Stella's intriguing post- painterly abstraction artwork, and the two work well together to create the fashionable Frida Kahlo-inspired prints. I choose Kahlo and her monkeys as my motifs because of everything Frida Kahlo represents. She embraced the struggles of life, embraced what made her different and unique, and just lived life colorfully through her art. Therefore, I wanted to create fashion prints that allow you to feel empowered and unique, and allow you to have fun with fashion.

As a creative, I have always identified heavily with music. With every memory, positive or negative, there is always a song or album that can bring me back to that moment in time. Music is very powerful in that way; it can trigger emotions, visuals, and even smells from a moment in time. COVID-19 has been difficult for us all and I found myself relying on music to get me through it, as I have always done. This project is dedicated to my love for music and is combined with my passion for styling, photography, and graphic design. I styled, creative directed, edited, and photographed (via FaceTime, in true quarantine fashion) every photo. This is a short playlist of my favorite songs during quarantine. Enjoy!

This mini video game was inspired by the many video games I grew up playing. The design style was inspired by the '90s and early 2000s gaming aesthetic. When it comes to designing, I like it to be fun, colorful, and camp. I like taking a very extra approach to each project I execute. I always enjoy doing the most fun and crazy ideas that I may come up with.

I have always taken interest in art movements and fashion styles from previous eras. A resurgence of fashions from the 1960s and 1970s was the main source of inspiration for my thesis project. My work is graphically charged and that's evident within the disco ball, lava lamp, and floral elements seen in this project. When creating collections, I not only consider the design of the fashion, but also how it can translate into promotional materials. I carried out the various motifs that are evident in my CADs into sticker decals. My design aesthetic and love for incorporating cheerful bursts of color, funky patterns, and charming graphics are echoed in these designs. This thesis project is a reflection of my creative passions and the progress that I've been able to attain at FIT.

Nature always makes its way into my work one way or another, whether it's the color palette or overall aesthetic. My work is modern and elevated with an exotic touch. This project is a mock-up of what I would want my future swimwear line to look like and represent, making women of all shapes and sizes feel more beautiful in their skin. This line was heavily inspired by nature and the beauty of countries like Bali and Greece. The color palette for the swimwear line is a perfect mix of neutrals and pops of color that embody that.

This collection of loungewear was inspired by my passion for late 19th - early 20th century art and textiles, combined with the situation of people spending more time at home during COVID quarantine. Without places to wear the latest fashions, women are looking for garments to wear at home that make them feel beautiful, feminine, and "dressed up". This collection, "Art Inspired Quarantine Loungewear," represents my approach to design. I blend my love of art history, travel, and color with handcrafted details of embroidery, beadwork, and lace to achieve the vintage and feminine sensibility of my work. My designs combine glamour and nostalgia, inspired by the opulence, romance, and elegance of a bygone era. I draw my inspiration from museums, art history books, and vintage markets. Through patterns and luxurious detailing, I hope to transport the wearer of my designs to an enchanting and elegant place of the past.

The project I have decided to showcase is one of my best design works, showing my passion for layout when it comes to design. The inspiration was to create three promotional movie works that are modern takes on vintage movie posters. I am a concept developer, trend forecaster, and stylist with a heavy passion for graphic design. My favorite thing about life is one's ability to romanticize everything. I like to romanticize the mundane and messiness of the day-to-day, because who cares if you just tripped up the subway stairs if you have killer shoes on?

Although we think of the desert as being a barren wasteland, it is actually a large ecosystem where many plants and animals flourish. With its red rocks, green cacti, and crystal blue sky, the desert is a place of beauty. I wanted to take this heavenliness to the backdrop of the mountains with extreme sportswear. While riding the slopes you'll be wearing colors and motifs inspired by the desert and its inhabitants. This collection covers a wide range of gear that any snowboarder would need, from base layers to boards. I incorporated different silhouettes from simple to more edgy, so that everyone can find something they love from the line. To create this collection I used Adobe Creative Suite. Whether you are a beginner on the bunny hill or riding your tenth black diamond, this collection, "Desert Living," will give you all you need with a hint of desert flair.

The main inspiration was pulled from old secretary phones found in my dad's office. I wanted to communicate how women, still to this day, believe that their potential is at a secretary level, even in their professional fields. It's appalling and depressing to see women with degrees, experience, and great work ethics, who do not get the respect, titles, or pay that they deserve simply because they are "just thankful to have a job." This is something that is occurring in even greater numbers during the COVID economic crash. It's important to keep each other awake in an industry that prefers us to go to sleep each night and "just be thankful we have jobs." This is something I feel extremely passionate about and wanted to communicate in a high-fashion, editorial photo shoot.

As a designer, my true goal in life is to express myself through art and creativity. Whether I am styling, constructing, and designing, I aspire to bring out my visions and inner thoughts to fruition. I have experience with photoshop and illustrator and use that to my advantage. I create beautiful artwork that is a representation of me stepping out of my comfort zone with each task. I am an aspiring fashion designer whose only desire is to create her thoughts in real life.

The Netherlands have served as an overarching concept for my portfolio, from wellness-focused lifestyles to the vast nature surrounding the area. My inspiration transports you to an icy resort on the edge of the world; or in the warmer months, an isolated, lush forest. In the winter months certain canals in the Netherlands freeze over, creating a natural ice rink with a dreamy landscape. These canals serve as color and mood inspiration throughout my work. The main goal for my work is to create both an escape from the world and a place to let yourself heal from the common stressors in our modern world. Using elements like selenite crystals and sage leaves in my work represents healing through creating peace and harmony in all aspects of our lifestyles.

The goal of these images was to create Mass Market collection for a made-up NFL team. Everything was designed with the idea of the licensing constraints of NFL team logos and colors. The Hampton Bays Hyenas is titled after a town in Long Island and is meant to give you a sense of nostalgia during a time when humanity needs it most. I was inspired by the 1950s Varsity aesthetic with a nod to utility construction. I included patching trends that take a retro direction for autumn with classic varsity appliques and motifs like the Fifties collegiate letters and Chenille patches. To keep the line current I added utility techniques like flap-top patch pockets, sleeve zippers, and hidden shirt pockets. These are great pieces to show your team spirit at the game or worn as a fashion piece on its own.

My name is Nina Starace, I have an associate degree in Fashion Design and an Art History minor, as I near my final semester at FIT and reflect upon my education I have learned to focus on the present and look to the future. Reiterating what has been swirling in the air throughout my college experience was this renewal of the late 90s, not just in fashion but in reeling headlines as well. I began formulating my own fictional newspaper named the Starace Chronicle and writing articles on my surroundings. Whether it was something along the lines of peekaboo pumps or sustainable practices I chose to focus on it because that is what seemed relevant in my world at the time. Ultimately, I wanted to convey that you should focus on things important to you, draw your own conclusions and block out the white noise.

My name is Elizabeth and I am a designer, stylist, and trend forecaster. I am constantly striving to learn new skills, which has led me to study Fabric Styling and Fashion Design. I love to create, and my portfolio includes work in many areas, such as photo styling, trend forecasting, print design and fashion design. I have found the inspiration for my work in so many different places, especially in nature, my environment and what I observe. The goal of my work is to turn my inspiration into art, and to produce projects that are unique and tell a story. As a designer I am always observing trends and interpreting them using my creative voice. My main goal is to do this in a way that resonates with others, and is marketable yet distinct.
