I have always loved fashion. It's endless. The world is fueled by fashion. Fashion always for expression. Education was hard but fashion wasn't. I struggled to learn how to read as young child but fashion was there without limitations. I design because it's comforting. I design because fashion is everywhere. It allows any issues to vanish when I start sewing. I'm a streetwear designer. Therefore, my approach is about durability, style, longevity. The impact of african americans on fashion is tremendous. My aesthetic is mixed with dappa don meets bape/bbc.

My inspiration for wanting to become a designer would be my great grandmother. She gave me my first sewing machine and she was the one who introduced the idea of making clothes. Then from there I had the goal of owning my own clothing line and to get me to my goal I wanted to go to FIT to achieve my goal. But before the idea of going to FIT came about I attended the High School of Fashion Industries which helped me to get an understanding of fashion and the construction of clothing which led to me being interested in having a career in fashion so FIT was my first choice. By being at FIT I was able to find my love for sportswear /streetwear clothing who I am/want to be as a designer.

My passion started with a simple interest in colors. The more pieces I created, the more I developed a love for art. Art allows me to express myself in beautiful and intricate ways, visually revealing my deep and inner thoughts that define who I am. When I discovered my love for art, I started to delve into what type of artist I wanted to become. After searching and researching, I was mesmerized and intrigued by these incredible forms of wearable art.
The main reason that I love fashion is because of its ability to give a person self-expression and confidence. Fashion is a way to show who a person is without even having to say a word. It can also fortify a person's confidence. I want women to be able to look at themselves in the mirror and see how beautiful they are by creating garments that flatter the body and structural pieces that make them feel strong.

I was always creative as a child, and during high school I realized my best expression was through the clothes I wore. I dreamed of ways I could make outfits better, and began sewing and sketching my ideas that led me to FIT. My designs can be found at the intersection of rugged industrialism and soft femininity. I explore the construction of clothing, the importance of silhouette on the female form and most of all the ability to provide function as well as aesthetic. Sportswear allows me to be the freest in my work, from extreme performance outerwear to chiffon cowl draped dresses.

I am an aspiring costume designer for film and theatre. My passion is rooted in creating works of art and garments that tell a story. My aesthetic can be described as ethereal, romantic, and dark. I love to work with textures and unique fabrics. Fabric manipulation and hand work are my strong suits. I also like to incorporate my jewelry making into my designs. And lastly, I have a great interest in fashion history, and always draw inspiration from history.

My favorite part of playing with my dolls when I was little was dressing them. Eventually I got to the point when I felt they didn't have enough clothes for the parties they had to attend. So I got to making them new dresses. Of course this started off just being scraps of fabric stapled together. Once my mom felt comfortable in my ability to use a needle my dolls had a new wardrobe. I design because it makes me happy. It's such an expressive thing for people to dress themselves, so to be a part of that expression is exciting. I am in sportswear because I want to dress people for their everyday life. I would consider my aesthetic to be feminine, girly, simple, and occasionally edgy.

Design is my most powerful tool; it allows me to set my imagination free.
The garments I create are a reflection of my deepest dreams and nightmares.
Fashion allows me to create my own universe, a world where everything is possible.
My love for breaking the boundaries between art, design, costume and fashion makes me experiment with multiple disciplines and styles.
There is always great amount of experimentation to my work, whether is conceptual or technical, I always like to take my creations to the next level.

Ever since I was a little girl I've always had a love for fashion. I decided that I wanted to be a fashion designer back when I was attending Lake Worth High School. I remembered at Lake Worth High we had a really strict dress code and I wasn't able to find anything to wear in stores that was stylish and met the dress code requirements. So, I started designing my own clothes! Every day I would get complement on the clothes I designed and even offers from students who wanted me to design for them. After noticing how much everyone loved my designs and how happy designing made me feel, I decided that I wanted to be a sportswear designer. Over the past years of attending FIT my style and esthetic have gotten stronger and I've noticed that my designs are very unique and different because I love to combine mix medias into my designs. I would describe my design aesthetics as ambitious and modern ready to wear.

I am a designer who believes in the perfection of craftsmanship and originality in design. I combine various design elements from both historical time periods and our modern day. I am heavily influenced by the music I listen to, the books I read, and the films I watch. My inspirations usually are drawn from historical events while simultaneously deriving from the yearning desire to satirize the current times we live in. I believe gender and sexuality are fluid and I consistently break the gender norms. Androgyny has always played a huge role throughout my designs. My designs can be satirical, inventive, and eccentric.

I am Senior at FIT majoring in Fashion Design, specialized in sportswear.
I think fashion appeals to my aesthetics when it is both functional and artistic. In other words, I envision the garments designed to be wearable, flexible, comfortable, and luxurious.
Ultimately, I decided to come to Fashion Institute of Technology in New York to study fashion design. In my sophomore year, I was selected by a process of portfolio submission to be Art Specialization. It is a challenging group of classes which involve a considerable amount of independent studies.
The junior semester, I won 1st place Award for The Collective X Designow Runway Show. I was competing with 28 semi-finalists from world famous fashion schools such as FIT, Parsons, and Pratt.
I interned in RTW, Sweater, Evening-wear, and menswear design departments at all different companies. This work experience took me from the classroom to the real fashion world.

As a person belonging to Turkish society, which has hosted various cultures, my artistic aspect has always been deeply influenced since my childhood. My origins have been a tool for combining the middle east side of us with modernism. Fashion is such that, when you make no progress, unfortunately you lose. You must always be able to keep yourself updated with the love in your soul. You have to ask yourself; What is the better one? what is the newer one? I believe that, as long as you work diligently to make your endless curiosity a reality, there is nothing you can lose.Because fashion is to believe and to produce for me. It is to adopt the perfectness as principle. It is to compete against time and always to take a hundred percent pleasure from a finished product.

I would love to develop new perspectives by exploring how people dress, what the drivers of fashion are, and what is the role of culture in people's choice of clothing. Being on a constant learning curve and having an endless desire to research what suits people better and how to satisfy them more in a clothing sense is my passion and my motto is to make the most of today's fashion.

My family lived poor, but when they went out, they slayed. My career as a designer began here, as a small child working with my uncle to select, create, and altar designs for his powerful drag personas. I saw the transformative strength of clothing as a picture of the beautiful inside. It gives power and comfort, sending a message to the world, and reminding yourself. I channel these memories and breathe impactful sophistication into every garment, layering confidence and creativity onto unconventional, undefined individuals.
After leaving home to put myself through fashion school, I struggled hard to pay the rent and be myself. I learned and lived the business creative lifestyle; hustling to make life work, but living every moment as a celebration. We don't have time to define life by sexuality and gender norms, we only have time to live it.
My clothing asks you…”Who do you want to be.”

I have been an artist all my life, from fine arts to performance, to fashion. When I design I often seek to find a marriage between streetwear and power dressing, which is what led me to my concentration of sportswear. Outside of my womenswear education, I also design menswear. As a previously trained actress, I incorporate elements of performance and film in my garments. As in the world of theatre and television, storytelling is key. Fashion is another medium to share stories that can reach people not only in their hearts, but in their minds as well. Ultimately, I seek to influence.

What makes me unique as a designer is the fact that I see fashion as a tool to communicate. Through fashion you can not only express your aesthetic, beliefs and individuality but also have a freedom to set your own beauty standard and push boundaries. I chose sportswear specialization because I believe I have louder voice and more freedom of expression through street wear. I aspire to make people understand that they can buy less and style more through the art of mix and match.

As a creator, you find yourself constantly forming ideas and concepts in the everyday pattern of life. So it now seems inevitable that I would circle back to design after trying my hand at some of the more conventional career paths. Above all else, I want to create things that excite, inform, and exist in the world with strong purpose. It is our own unique stories and the events that lead us to the present that influence and color our artistic vision. In this way, I want to forge a space for me to create that which others will enjoy and bring into their own personal world of expression and identity. I chose the Sportswear specialization because I'm fascinated by denim and reinterpreting the traditional idea of workwear and every day foundations of the wardrobe.

I always loved creativity and design. My mother was also a fashion designer, I grew up with all her stories and how she enjoyed to be a designer. I am always inspired by art and history. I do a lot of research about everything. My inspiration never stops. I think this is my main reason why I am always continuing to design. One thing about me: I am very passionate about the things I love. I give my al, so one design of me reflects all of me.

I have always liked to produce new ideas since I was little, and I realized that the best way to pass these ideas over to people was to study in the fashion design major.Fashion design is not only a profession for me, but also the way to express myself.I want to run my own brand in the future and make collections based on fabric manipulation and combination of high technology fabrics.

Every person in every industry cares about what they put on their body and how they present themselves to the world, whether it's their most colorful, avant-garde or minimalist, neutral self. Design, for me, became an outlet to make that notion a reality not only as an artistic release for me, but to hopefully help others feel confident, transform their image, or be the most authentic version of themselves. I went to a very academically driven high school where the norm was to pursue business, finance, engineering, or medicine, but I always felt happiest and the least stressed when I was in my sewing class. Growing up in New Jersey, living in NYC was my ultimate dream and realizing that pursuing fashion design could be a reality for me, there was no other choice but to attend FIT. I design for those who are confident and assertive in their beliefs and who they are as individuals, and sportswear is the most diverse and flexible specialization for me to create.

Being a designer means that you can conceptualize ideas and create a vision that is completely up to you, representing a life and culture that you want to see. Designing is also an outlet for me to think outside the box as well as designing for everyday women to feel their most beautiful and confident.

I was always interested in fashion design because I grew up with it. When I was 10, I started designing and sewing dresses for my barbies and this passion brought me here, to FIT where I can express myself. For me, a sparkle is necessary in every design. Whether I design a tracksuit or a gown, I always add a touch of shine to it.
